~Maren Sinclair Hurn, MFA (AKA Marilyn Hurn Mohr)

Maren has been making art and living in Santa Cruz County for over 25 years. She has been an Open Studios artist and currently maintains a studio and teaching space called Marzart Studio. With a MFA in sculpture from Montana State University her work is grounded in the three dimensions with emphasis on texture and form. A love of ceramics began in 1971 with her first clay class at Monterey Peninsula College and was fired up studying with Robert Arneson at UC Davis in the early 80’s. Clay is the medium of choice she has come home to. Maren enjoys teaching, learning from her students and the bonus of connecting with her community through art.
